Welcome to the online home of Michael Dolan, artist, songwriter, and general creative professional.
After a number of years maintaining separate sites for all of my various activities, I've decided to consolodate them all right here in one easy to navigate location. This is still a new site, but you’ll find samples of my free music downloads and information about my albums and gigs, links to buy my craftwork, and much more, along with stories, articles, and general rants about everything from metaphysics to politics. There’s even information on hiring me to do design work or creative consulting.
Feel free to poke around, or contact me directly if you feel like to need to.
I've spent my whole life making art of one sort or another- Woodworking, music, writing, and various other mediums. Both as a solo performer and as part of Featherscale, I've toured the Northeast, headlining festivals in NYC, VA, and New England.
I also do lots of other stuff, like write, organize festivals, make YouTube videos, and more. I even post the occasional recipe in between articles on money, politics, and marketing.
Creative solutions are my specialty. Whether you need a new image for your brand, a way to save your business money, or a fresh look at an old problem, there's a good chance I can help. I am available for print or web design work, as well.
Apparently Hillary Clinton was in town today. It got me thinking a bit about the hate that's being sent her way, not the least of which comes from Bernie fans. I know I'm guilty of that myself.
The thing is, Hillary isn't all that bad when compared to the rest of congress, pundits, and recent officials. She's a Washington insider with a good track record on abortion, finally came around on gay rights, and gets her money fromt the same place everyone else in her position does. Under any other circumstances, she'd be an easy pick as the lesser of two evils.
The other night, we lost one of the most influential players in the heavy metal genre, and also among the most authentic and unflinching rock and rollers of our time. I drew this in memorium.
A couple pencil sketches from tonight.
